TradingView Dark Theme & Chart Colors for Long Sessions

TradingView dark theme color illustration

Watching markets is heavy work for the eyes; color isn't aesthetics, it's fatigue management. The freedom is high, but most people only need to change three things.

Three steps

  1. Global theme: switch to dark (desktop follows the system) to cut the brightness gap in a dim room;
  2. Candle colors: drop the default high-saturation red/green a notch or two — big high-saturation flicker is the main strain driver;
  3. Background and grid: solid dark gray over pure black, grid opacity to just visible.

Two practical notes

  • Color vision deficiency: swap up/down to blue/orange — far more legible than default red/green;
  • Once tuned, save it as a theme template, apply in one click, synced across devices; keep a separate high-contrast template for streaming/screenshots.
Tip: the desktop app supports per-monitor full-screen. With a system night/warm mode, the color-temperature shift tints red/green candles — turn off auto temperature on your charting screen.
