Workflow
TradingView Keyboard Shortcuts: Double Your Chart-Watching Speed
Shortcuts compound: two seconds per action, hundreds a day. Drill this set into muscle memory first — it covers 90% of daily work.
High-frequency
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Switch timeframe | Type it: 5=5m, 1D=daily, 1W=weekly |
| Switch symbol | Type the ticker + Enter, e.g. BTCUSD, NVDA |
| Create alert | Alt + A (Mac: ⌥ + A) |
| Screenshot | Alt + S |
| Undo / redo drawing | Ctrl + Z / Ctrl + Y |
| Full-screen chart | Shift + F, Esc to exit |
Two underrated habits
- Type the ticker to switch symbols — far faster than scrolling the watchlist; over 30 symbols it's an order of magnitude;
- Hit
Ctrl+Zright after a drawing to confirm the undo stack before building complex structure.
Terminal bonus: desktop shortcuts are system-level and respond in the background; in a browser
Ctrl+W gets stolen to close the tab — the desktop app doesn't have that. Paired with a multi-monitor workspace, keyboard for symbols and mouse for drawings is the smoothest posture.
