TradingView Keyboard Shortcuts: Double Your Chart-Watching Speed

TradingView keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet illustration

Shortcuts compound: two seconds per action, hundreds a day. Drill this set into muscle memory first — it covers 90% of daily work.

Switch timeframeType it: 5=5m, 1D=daily, 1W=weekly

Two underrated habits

  • Type the ticker to switch symbols — far faster than scrolling the watchlist; over 30 symbols it's an order of magnitude;
  • Hit Ctrl+Z right after a drawing to confirm the undo stack before building complex structure.
Terminal bonus: desktop shortcuts are system-level and respond in the background; in a browser Ctrl+W gets stolen to close the tab — the desktop app doesn't have that. Paired with a multi-monitor workspace, keyboard for symbols and mouse for drawings is the smoothest posture.
