TradingView Installer Verification & Account Security Setup

TradingView installer verification and account security illustration

Your trading account holds watchlists, strategies and alert config — and may connect to a broker. It deserves a notch more security than an ordinary account. Do the installer and the account together.

Verify the installer

  • Windows: right-click → Properties → Digital Signatures; the signer should be TradingView Inc.;
  • macOS: rely on the system's Gatekeeper notarization check;
  • Linux: check the GPG signature and the SHA-256 shipped with the package;
  • Beware "high-speed downloaders" in search ads and repackaged clients shared in groups — a repackaged client hands your password to someone else.

Harden the account

  1. Account → Security, enable two-factor; prefer an authenticator app (TOTP) over SMS, which can be SIM-swapped;
  2. Save the recovery codes; review login sessions and kick devices you don't recognize;
  3. Audit third-party authorizations and revoke unused ones; refuse any third party that asks for your password itself rather than going through the official flow.
Tip: use a unique strong password from a password manager. Credential stuffing is the #1 source of account theft; a unique password plus 2FA blocks most attacks. For the install flow, see the install guide.
